1 to 1 Coaching

For leaders who want quality one-to-one time to offload, share challenges, find solutions, and work on their professional goals, in a confidential environment, without the fear of being judged.

In-person, by phone or online – you choose!

It’s so comforting to know I have someone to talk to from outside school who is non-judgemental, supportive and who ‘has been there’ themselves.

Jayne, Headteacher (Nottingham)

Imagine spending focused time …

Being more strategic in your role, so you can avoid the feeling of not having achieved anything by the end of the day or week

Sharing concerns, doubts, challenges in a confidential environment, so you can clear your head of this stuff, get clarity on what’s most important, and identify a productive way forward

Building confidence in your role and your decision making, and not second guessing yourself, or overthinking something and wasting time not taking action

Being creative with your vision and how to achieve it, using your external resources (team, physical resources, environment, etc), your own personal resources, and a great listening sounding board!

Having more energy to manage day-to-day tasks and unexpected challenges, without going home each day feeling exhausted and not having achieved your priorities for that day

Being more positive and motivated so you’re able to inspire and motivate your team, so they become more motivated and productive

Examples of Focus Areas for Coaching

Here’s a list of some of the topics I’ve worked with leaders on to date:

  • Developing a ‘tougher skin’ to build resilence
  • Time for more strategic planning & reduce the ‘fire-fighting’
  • Managing team friction in a positive and productive manner
  • How I maintain standards whilst implementing a new change
  • Developing more of a leadership role than a management one
  • Building confidence and assertiveness in my new leadership role
  • How to be a more effective leader, particularly with ‘difficult’ team members
  • How to empower colleagues so they are more independent and accountable

This in not an exhaustive list.

What would your focus area be for coaching?

Do you have a more general area, or something more specific?

Meet Your Coach

Hi, I’m Debbie, founder of The Leadership Coaching Academy.

Since qualifying as a coach and setting up my coaching business in 2005, I’ve worked with hundreds of leaders, from across the education sector, corporate organisations and charities.

Each leader has their own unique situation, their own strengths and experiences, different learning and motivation styles.

When we work together, it’s my job to help you get clarity on your focus area, get specific on your goal(s), help you explore different options, find solutions and identify next steps.

It doesn’t always happen in that order, as coaching is fluid. You bring your focus area, experience, expertise, and resourcefulness. I bring my unique set of coaching skills, models and tools, and wide range of experience.

Together, we get to where you want to be!

My coaching style has been regularly described as calm and positively challenging, within a safe space to offload, be vulnerable, develop and thrive.

“These sessions came at exactly the right time for me in my career and your exercises and questioning have given me the opportunity to step back and evaluate my job, myself as a person and my role within the team. This has been invaluable. Thank you for all your help!”
